Please Name This Film....................
A Couple buy a Old Mansion, and on the Living Room Wall is a Portrait of the Mansion in which a 'ghostly figure'
Suddenly appears..
As the days progress, the 'Figure' is moving towards the front door... at the end of the Film they look at the Portrait and see the 'Figure' is on the doorstep and they hear Knocking at their own Front Door..... (its not the mezzotint or Night Gallery. i have checked those.. many thanks to all who answer)

I think it was one of the twilight zone stories or from the 'Tales from the Crypt' series but of course I could be wrong!!
That idea has been used a few times in various horror films and shorts.

OMG, when you find out , let me know, I was just talking about that same scene ans asking about it, I remember it from my childhood.. I remember the woman screaming when she saw the figure in the picture almost at the door... I acutally thought it was a night gallery or some show like that.. I got all the NG shows, so I no thats not it.. I was looking into one step beyond next. I didnt think it was a movie.. but know that you said movie, I'll have to check movies too..

Are you sure it's a movie from the 1930s? I have seen a lot of 1930s movies, but none that resemble what you described. Sorry.
