Civil War Research Report?

I need to write a research report on the civil war, but I need some good references can you help me out or if you know about the subject let me know. I appreciate your help! The instructions to my report are below:

Paper- 5 pages in length (Microsoft Word Times New Roman Size 12 font Double Spaced) – due Friday March 23rd- 75 points
–The Civil War was the single most defining moment in America’s History. Why?
•The build up to the Civil War began with the signing of the Constitution.
•From that point a civil war of was being fought in Washington D.C by Politicians.
•The military struggle that began with Fort Sumner was only the short ending of the war.
•Explain the build up to the civil war making sure to include the following:
–Your paper should start in the early 1800’s and include some of the topics:
•Legislation passed that pushed the South further from the Union
•Attempts made to broker a compromise between the North and South

•Key political leaders from the North and the South
•Important events that occurred that brought the two sides closer, or further apart
–You need at least 5 different sources, all properly cited in a separate Bibliography page.

I think you have a decent teacher, for all the questions have valid essay answers. If you expect to get to college, though, you will have to learn your own answers -- and, more important, develop your own supported opinions.

I would be happy to help you with some particular item you can't find, but I won't write your paper for you (anyhow not for less than a lot of money), and I'm pretty sure most people here share my ethics, such as they are.
