If you've had unprotected sex, then you very well could be. You need to buy a new test and take it. Use the instructions this time!

Let’s keep this simple - there are two areas in the pregnancy test. The first is the CONTROL - area that will always show a line if the test is working correctly. The second area is the actually TEST area that gives the result to the big question of am I or Aren't I. If you got 2 lines with in 10 minutes from the time you began the test - you are more than likely pregnant. If you got 2 lines after 20 minutes of the test sitting there you are probably not pregnant as the tests can then give a false positive. Below is the online version of what I just told you if you want it...

But what I would do is, as others have said, get another test and try it again. they can be gotten at the local pharmacy for about $10 - $15 depending on what brand you get and # in package. You really only need 1 but get a 2 pack to set your mind at ease so you know you have a back up.

Also if you don’t have insurance you can go online and try to find a planned parenthood in your area. They go on a sliding fee scale based upon your income. Call - but I believe that they take walk ins for tests. That was where I found out that I was pregnant for my first child. They were Great and because they weren't very close to my home referred me to other OBGYN's. or go to www.Pregnancycenters.org. They mention Abortion on their page but you can go for just the test - it doesn’t mean that you are even considering having an abortion just that you want to be sure of your situation - Pregnant or Not.

Best of luck to you - Don't wait too long if you are pregnant you'll need prenatal care as soon as possible.

INFO FROM ONLINE ABOUT TESTS
Once the reaction time of the test is complete, color bands will appear (or fail to appear) in the test region of the strip or midstream unit. All tests have a "control" color band (or color line) that indicates whether the test is working or not. The "test" color band indicates a positive or negative result (please refer to the graphic below). Given proper testing and interpretation procedure, a faint line in the test region may be read as a positive result, though it's a good idea to verify any result with an additional test 24-48 hours later (using first morning urine).
Manufacturers also recommend that you should not read tests after a designated time period, as most test brands have the possibility of developing evaporation lines. If you leave the test to sit for too long, an evaporation line may develop and look like a positive result.

Ive seen a couple of times when looking up symptoms and things for pregnancy and stuff like that, people are asking about brown spotting, and some times that is shown to be a sign of a miscarriage, which would be extremely unfortunate, if this is the case, in any case i think that you should go to your doctors and get a test done, when you can, and or go out and get a new pg test, there not that hard to read just make sure you go over the instructions before you start +means preg -means not !! give it another shot ...best of luck to you!!

The next step would be to take another test. If you can not afford one..you can go to your local health dept. and get one at a much lower rate. A nurse may even read it for you ...but I am not positive about that. If you are not pregnant and still do not start this month you need to go to the dr and see what is going on. With my oldest (now 14) I did have a small period the first month. Because it was so long ago I do not remember how long it was. I told the dr and he laughed my off. You know your body.

Depending on what's going on around you you very well could be or you may not be. Sometimes your period is delayed due to stress factors involved in your life, just thinking about stress in your head, will cause your body to be delayed. But you may as well be pregnant. I wouldn't take another home pg test, I would wait to get bloodwork at your doctors office.

My best advice is to go to the store and get another pregnancy test just to be sure until you can see the Doctor. You did not say what brand of test you took so I don't know if your positive or negative. But you will find out soon enough.I hope everything works out for you.Good luck.

The best and for sure way to find out if you're pregnant is to get a test or if you can't do that, you can also go to a planned parenthood or pregnancy clinic to get a free test.

you can make an appointment to see your doctor sooner, or you could just have an irregular menstrual cycle, but you can go to the hospital and give you a p-test so that you can be sure.
