If the BIG BOSS wanted to dress me down...he would have left the door open so I could hear the angry words and have the fear dripping into my bowels.
The BIG BOSS would derive pleasure from that scenario.

i think they are most probably gossiping!
Because final answer and confirmed decisions can only be made in a meeting with all the executives, so they are gossiping about the rumours or their personal benefits, but not about you!
Why? Because gossiping about you do not need to close the door!

nope.. if the head hancho goes into your boss's office, then it's work related. but if they call you in later that day or the next day then it was definately something about your performance.
