There are several joints that are complex for different reasons. But I would say that the shoulder (glenohumeral) joint is the most complex.

It has the most range of motion, has so many small intricate muscles, and is one of the easiest (and most painful) to dislocate.

The shoulder (glenohumeral) joint is formed by the glenoid fossa of the scapula and the humeral head of the humerus. It is encased in the glenoid labyrum and its joint capsule is made from various of its muscles.

LOL. i'm just cracking up b/c it's pretty obvious the human body is so amazing the case could be made for my coccyx to be the most complex joint in the world. not a single person has answered the same thing, and all of the answers are pretty well defended.

however, i agree with the logic of the shoulder being the most complex.

"The TMJ (temporomandibular joint) is one of the most complex joints in the human body. This joint, separates the U shaped bone of the lower jaw from the skull. It has upper and lower joint compartments, filled with a lubricating fluid (synovial fluid). The compartments are separated by a disk, shaped like a mushroom cap. "

Radiocarpal joint is the complex joint in human body.

complex joint: they have 3 or more articulation surfaces

The wrist usually refers to the "radiocarpal joint". It represents the boundary between the two rows of bones in the carpus.

The carpus is the cluster of bones in the hand between the radius and ulna and the metacarpus.
The joint between the radius and ulna and the carpus is called the wrist.

Considering the range of motion that is required, I would suggest the C-1 joint between the base of the skull and the top of the cervical spine.
