LONG story real short.
In the late 80's, the USN let females into my squadron. I was a NATOPS instructor, I was assigned to give her, her check ride. She had not even completed 1/2 of her requirements, had slept with ever officer that would sleep with her and was sure this was going to be a breeze. The Navy REALLY wanted this girl through the pipes so that it could say"look what we did"
I failed her. then they schd another check ride for me and her( Against navy policies, once I failed her another instructor should have been assigned) The C.O. , sent my "sea dad" to my house to "talk" to me........Advicing me that it would be beneficial to my career to pass her.......... She failed the second one!
Her third one was given by one of her bed mates..... she passed, 2 months later while flying with a crew, they had an emergency, she failed to react properly, I lost 12 shipmates that day.
Don't compromise!!!!

I have been. I am sorry, I cannot give the example, its much too long...but the result was I hurt a dear friend very badly.
