I have tow hermit crabs, a baby one and a very larger older one. I replenish the food everyday but it doesn't seem as if they eat anything. I make sure to keep everthing moist, so they stay hydrated but they never eat. =[

Okay, this doesn't make much sense to me but a friend of mine owns a pet store and he gave me this idea. Go to a pet store and get some turtle bites. They love them. If they are hungry they should go crazy over them. If you don't see them eating at all you might make sure that their temp and humidity is right. The hard thing with hermit crabs is that they don't like to eat unless it's dark. Only put enough food in there to see if they have eaten it or not in the morning. Chances are they are eating, but you can't tell. They are very small and sometimes it's hard to tell that they have eaten at all! I had 3 for over 2 years and only saw them eat 3 or 4 times!

Don't put as much food in next time, only put in enough so if they are eating then it would be gone the next day. You can also check on them every so often and and see if you can catch them eating.

You can also give them different types of food. Mine don't ever seem to eat the normal hermit crab food but they love the fruit mix and pretty much any other type of fresh food, they even like eating canned dog and cat food. Here is a site that list several different types of foods you can try, http://www.epicureanhermit.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=14&Itemid=9

Is your hermit crabs in an aquarium or is it in one of those hermit crab cage thingies? I have a very large one in my 55gal saltwater tank and I feed him krill on the end of a skewer and I watch him eat it, so I know he's eating. That's what i would recommend if yours is in a tank, however if your's are in one of those house things, then I would only put in as much as they can eat in one seating and you'll know when it's gone.

Smooth the sand out around the food bowl and watch for crab tracks in the sand around the food bowl.
