Top of the Class with As:

Patriots(yeah I'm a biased New Engladner) - Held onto Assante, then grabbed Thomas, Welker, K. Brady, Morris and now Stallworth. By the way on the horizon are two first round draft picks and we've seen Pioli/Belichick's track record with first round picks.

Ravens- I'm just a huge McGahee fan, I think he's the real deal and a great add to their offense

the Cardinals - I think Whisenhunt as their coach was the best move of their offseason. A few players here and there, but I believe they're still on the right path towards turning that franchise around, just didn't happen as quickly as everyone wanted.

Back of the Class that need some work through the remainder of offseason:

Chicago - You mess around with your coaching staff losing your D coordinator, trade away Thomas Jones for less than value hoping on Benson. Apart from franchising Briggs have had absolutely no noise and no improvement

I had the Broncos at #1 and Pats at #2 but now I switched those. With the addition of Stallworth the Pats have addressed their #1 weakness last year - a deep threat. And the way they signed him they protected themselves. In addition to their other free agent signings (WR Welker, OLB Thomas, FB Evens, and RB Morris) they have TWO first round picks. Look for them to draft a safety to back up Harrison if he goes down again and possibly a young linebacker.

A+ Pats
A- Broncos
B+ Raiders (just need a good QB from the draft... if they dont draft a QB they go down to a C)
B+ Jets - how do you get Thomas Jones for basically nothing????
...
F Eagles - letting go of Garcia and Stallworth and Buckhalter and have sgined nobody good

I think the San Fransisco 49ers should get an A. They have had a tremendous off season and are going to surprise some people next year. Now, they just need a true #1 receiver. Ashlie Lelie does not cut it, but he's a start.

A's for both Denver and New England. They have filled needs, added some depth, and haven't had to break the bank to do it. Both really had to make their moves in FA since their draft picks were not great spots.

Green Bay Packers: Grade B
Didn't sign any overly priced free agents, didn't resign any overthehill players and didn't give any of their draft picks away.
