Yes, just do it yourself and rent the rug doctor from your local supermarket. I know A&P's have then for about $21 a day plus the cleaning solution. Much cheaper than hiring someone to do it. It's very similar to vacuuming so anyone can do it themself and save lots of $$$$.

Have used a Rug Doctor many times when cleaning the carpets in a children's day nursery.. They work well on what i would call normal use carpets, but when it comes to cleaning really ground in dirt, food etc then i find that you will need to work the worst areas with something that has more effect, that something is called elbow grease and a hand scrubbing brush.

Hi. I havent hired one but from research I found it works by a steam method. From experience steam cleaning is useless. It soaks the carpet which creates a breeding ground for mould and bacteria. The carpet also stays wet for about 12 to 24 hours. Again not good. I'd play it safe and call your local Chem-Dry agent

Yes, every Summer we clean the carpets in the house. We rent the machine for a day and it is great. It does acutally looks like you have a new carpet.

If you have a lot of stains, pretreat them beforehand. They also sell special stuff that is quite handy. You will need to get the hnag of it as not to soak the place but it is very easy.

Choose a sunny day and open all the windows, it needs to dry quicky to keep ultra clean.

We used to rent them regularly, until we bought our own Hoover steam-cleaner vacuum.

The rug doctor is still much better than any home steam-cleaner-vacuum, and occasionally we will still rent one in spite of the fact that we own our own steam-cleaner (because the rug doc is so effective).

They are a bit heavy, but very effective.

They usually rent for about $20 to $25 per day.

I rented one once but I prefer the ones you rent at one of those rental places. They are professional models and do a much better job. Cost of rental is only a couple bucks more than the Rug Doctor

yeah they are really good !!!

i rented a house with cream carpets throughout , i had a mucky puppy and a baby learning to eat and crawl .
before i moved out i hired one and my husband did the lot of the carpets and we still had time for my mum to do hers aswell ???

really good value at very low prices .
needless to say i didn`t have to pay for carpet cleaners when i left and saved myself a fortune.
i would recomend it to anyone.
