Charley Pride, because somehow he got away with telling people he was white for like 30 years.
When he started, they didn't say he was black, because that kinda stuff wouldn't float in the Fifties. Then he finally did a concert and you could smell the crosses burning. Then he did a wonderful thing akin to the Jedi Mind Trick... they just said he was white.
And everyone bought it until his autobiography in the Eighties. And Whitey was like, "I thought he was black, but they said he was white."
It was a good-natured chuckle. And that is why Charley Pride is the most-surprising guest.
