Tampa's a big city. It's easier to get around by car.

Absolutely. You can get around a little by the weird street car but other than that you need a car. Don't ride hartline...

You'll definitely need a car to get to the beaches which are across Tampa bay in Pinellas county.

I've been there once, in 1994, and my group rented a bus. It took two hours or so to get there.
