I agree with you, but you answered your own question. Kinda defeats the purpose of this site.

The free health care in the UK is amazing. How much do u guys in america have to pay if you break your arm? Britain with the NHS, not a penny. Ive been in hospital for an operation, NHS Subpar Doctors, horrible conditions? no way, id much rather get it for free instead of paying loads for health insurance or just to use a hospital.

As I understand what has been written recently, in the past politicians have promised free health care, but looking forward it is largely unfunded and it physically not be delivered in the years going forward. I also have the impression that it may be unpopular for any politician to address this issue with a presidential election looming. As with most things in life, the longer it is left blowing in the breeze, the bigger the problem will be when the chucks come home to roost.

Absolutely the USA should give "free" healthcare. All they need to do is put tax money into it. This would ensure healthier people who can achieve more. People would be able to have the medical procedures they cannot afford now.

I have actually watched a show where most of the people on it weren't able to afford going to a doctor. One guy had his brain pushing into his ear canal and couldn't afford the MRI to get it looked at. That's crazy!

Why should only the rich be healthy? The people that make them rich should not have to worry about affording healthcare.

Also, you can have a 2 tier system, where there's a general free healthcare, but you can also get your own plan for better care. This means that the poor people can be taken care of, and the rich people can have all their extras that they need.

Either way I'm sure it costs less in taxes to supply healthcare than what people are paying into it now. Plus you get competitions in hospitals, which is unsightly. You become a customer in the USA, not a patient, it's plain creepy.

A 2 tier system would be best I think. For a healthier America.

Free? They steal my money and call it taxes. There is free health care already. The plan is to keep it under wraps, and let all the challenged citizens die off because they don't contribute enough. Then again all of our jobs are being outsourced to other countries. I talk to McDonalds and other service sector employees and they get minimum wages and no benefits. Wanna live? Go into debt.

Maybe not but as long as "America" supports the Big Oil companies getting their Political Pay Back from Bush by the American Consumer being raped and gouged at the Pump what is the Big deal about free Health care?

Did you know that the Republicans gave "All Iraq citizens nor only Free Health Care - but Free College Educations to all that wanted it"

I bet you didn't complain against that did you?

Having to wait for medical is better than never getting it. America sucks. If your not rich or a woman with kids you just don't get any in this lousy country.

No, but healthcare DOES need to be reformed in some way. I don't know about you, but my insurance goes WAY up year after year. Socialized medicine is not the answer (who wants half their paycheck going to taxes?), but something needs to be done soon.
