No, you probably did not over react. you've each correct to be mad. What she suggested is beside the point and racist and that's comprehensible why you took offense to it. She must have seen the way you may experience earlier she suggested some thing like that. And basically retaining, some thing else may ensue in the destiny if she says some thing like that or worse to those who may take more beneficial offense. And reading the finest section, possibly she ought to target to be more beneficial open-minded. inspite of the actuality that i'm no longer particular how a lot which will replace. easily, that's unhappy that she's so closed-minded and she stereotypes human beings by ability of the color of their epidermis or their sexual orientation.

Tell him that you do not share his views and that you find his racist comments insulting. Tell him that defining someone/discriminating against another person based on their racial background is not right. He has no right to insult others around him without proper reason. There is a difference between disliking someone because they are an unkind person, and disliking them based on the colour of their skin, their background. Race is not an issue when it comes to the decency of another human being. Teach your friend to be a more excepting person and to never judge others without first getting to know them. If he still disagrees, than this is not the type of person you want to associate yourself with, trust me when I say, you can find more excepting people.

I would tell him, "I don't want to hear remarks about Black people because that bothers me, so if you're going to make those remarks don't do it around me."

I don't know how old you are or how long you've been friends with this person, but you may want to re-think being friends with someone who thinks like that because if he's that ignorant about race he's probably equally ignorant about any number of things.

If you're kids, though, maybe if he gets told a few times by a few people that nobody wants to hear it he may take the hint.

well if ur friend is stubborn about being that way and you think that he wont change even if you do tell him that it is offensive to you then he is basically disrespecting you by not keeping his beliefs to himself. There probably isn't a chance you can make him think different but at least maybe he wont have to talk about it in front of you if you ask him not to. It would be pretty embarrassing to be with him and for him to start something with someone because of his race and you will be dragged into it and have to deal with it as well.

I think that it is really sad that someone would put so much into hating someone simply for the color of their skin. It is crazy. I would tell him to put his time and energy into something more productive. There are good and bad people in every race, ethnicity, religion, etc. He needs to get a life, and not only that, he is causing himself to miss out on knowing some really great people.

Yea your best bet is to explain how you feel about what he is saying. Or you can freak him out by telling him that your black and tell him about your great-great uncle. And ask him if he knows about his bloodline cause he may just be black too. Honestly in about 20 years there will be no more race cause regardless of whether people want to believe it, or not every race is bleeding togther.

First think about it. If his ideas way of thinking is offensive to you why do you cinsider him a friend..That said tell him strait out next time he does it that it bothers you. Then if he don't respect you enough to hold his tongue. Decide if you still want to be his friend and hang around a person who puts down people he doesn't know for no reason other then their color.

I wouldn't want a friend like that. Racists usually beget racists. In other words, many racist attitudes are passed along from the parents.

None of your business. Either his other traits make up for it and you keep him as a friend or they don't and you dump him.
You can tell him your opinion, just as he is telling you his.

I assume the person you are referring to is not Carlos Mencia, Damon Wayans, Martin Lawrence, Richard Pryor, Chris Rock or Eddie Murphy? Or is he one of dozens of modern day rappers?

Or you could do as some others here have recommended: punish him for speaking and then beat him into your way of thinking.

Honestly, if it bothers you, then discard him as a "friend" and ignore him. You will find plenty of others friends you can respect and he will find other friends who will respect him. That's the way the world works.

By the way, talking trash like this does not equate with being a "racist." Look up the definition of "racist" sometime.

Tell him that you disagree with his opinion, and that if you are going to keep being friends then he needs to respect that and stop making racist comments around you.
Then I would really evaluate how much you think of him as a friend, and decide if that is the type of people that you want to surround yourself with.
Good luck.
