Hi! I'm around your age, I know what its like my parents can get pretty protective on me. They do let me go to sleepovers but only if they know the person. Ive had more than one time where they refused to let me go cuz I had just met the person or just said i could only stay till a certain time at night. I know what its like though, they just kinda want to know everything that's gonna happen and who is gonna be there. Yes, it is lame but maybe talk it out with her and find out her reasons for not letting you go and maybe you can fill her in on all the details and say you will call and have your friends mom talk to her as well. Parents like to hear from other parents that their kids will be safe. Its worked a few times for me, and I was able to change their minds. Hope it works out for you!

well, why don't you start by asking why you can't sleep over? will there be boys there? is that why they won't let you stay? i've never seen a parent so overprotective for so long. you're 16, and if you've never been in any serious trouble, then there should be no trouble with letting you stay. i think that she's being a little too overprotective, depending on the situation mentioned above, but no, i don't consider it "lame" to not stay. it's a little sad, because you don't get to stay for the whole party, but your friends will enjoy your company for the time that you're there, and they'll share everything that happens after you leave with you the next time they see you. good luck!

well i mean your mom is the boss, and that happened to me. Ask your mom why you cant. Maybe she doesnt no the parents! That was why i couldnt go. Ask your mom to call the girls parents if thats the problem. Not sleeping over isnt lame! Just blame your mom, your friends will understand. Say, "my mom said no. I cant belive why, but i cant. Sorry."
Hope this helps. best wishes

My mom never let me sleep over ANYONES house (not even family) and I think i turned out just fine and secondly you should be happy she is at least letting you go the way things are today and you never know about people these days I know you propably think your mom sucks but you will appreciate her and all the times she said "no" when you get older. I personally think she is kinda cool look at it this way she did compromize with you she could have said no to the whole deal dont push your luck and have fun !!!!!

Your mom must have some very good reasons for saying that you cannot sleep over. Perhaps past incidents.... ? At 16 you should have some idea about what you should be doing and not doing. Then again, You are still young enough that good advice can't hurt as long as you are willing to listen to it. Try to see your Mom's reasoning and discuss with her the reasons why and be prepared to listen. Good luck!!

f I were you I would make it seem like you want to leave at midnight, like it's YOUR idea, not that you have to obey your mother. It would be lame for you to not go at all, but coming home at midnight is a great compromise.
