Sublime came out with a date rape song, and got blamed when a girl got raped.

Marylin Manson got blamed for the Columbine shootijgs.

The Beatles Got blamed for Charlie Manson with Helter Skelter.
Is it fair for these artist to get blamed for someone THEY DO NOT KNOW for mis-inturpreting theri lyrics.
Shouldn't we hold the guilty party accountable for their own actions?

Blaming music for the negative actions of others is just an utter fallacy. Just because some kid listened to a song glorifying violent acts does not mean they will go out and commit something like that themselves

I listen to a lot of death/black metal, and their lyrics are very negative, blasphemous, violent, but you know what? I couldn't care less about what they're saying, I like the music. The only lyrics which get to me are the deeply emotional ones or folk tales.

But even though I listen to this music people still judge me as some evil person who will definetly kill somebody soon..and really I wouldn't even hurt a fly...

No it's not fair. It's just a cop out. Parents don't spend time with their kids. They don't teach them right and wrong. They just sit them in front of the TV. It's these kids that do alot of this stuff. It's a cop out. People are just looking to place the blame on anything except the parents. Sure there are some kids that are truly unbalanced due to mental conditions, but if the parent's spent time with them, they would've recognized it.

It's really sad.
I know for most musicians their music is really important to them.
When that happened to sublime I know Bradly took it to heart, He couldn't believe his fans would take his lyrics likle that.
And now some girl who "claims" to be a juggalette, killed her mom, and the police are targetting ICP..
Okay, these artists have a talent and that's ALL they're guilty for.
Not doing the crime the fans do. That's the fan's actions and only THEY should be held accountable

You are absolutely correct. There is a warning about explicit lyrics on these types of CDs. It would make no sense to hold them accountable. It would be the equivalent of holding the creators of the "Friday The Thirteenth" series responsible for any serial killings.

The guilty party is to blame. If someone's messed up in the head enough to do that kind of thing, sooner or later they're going to do it regardless of what music they listen to.

Music influences what you do but it doesn't MAKE you do it. Those that do what they do have it in there heart.
