One pet pev..I hate when people compare THEIR relationship to all other. I think NO ONE is in a perfect relationship. What works for you might not fit someone elses personality.
A good example is Ricky Lake...she would alway say "MY husband would never do that or MY husband this or that" Now the B*tch is divorce. Let me know what you think?

I agree. My pet peeve is when people give advice about things they've never actually been through themselves. I think that if people answer questions based on similar experiences, it's ok. But telling people what they're own relationship is like when it has nothing to do with the person's question or problem is pointless and not helpful.

I agree with you completely. I posted questions on here when my husband cheated and we went to counseling and worked it out. I got blasted. Once a cheater, always a cheater...if he cheated he doesnt truley love you...I would dump the loser....I would never cheat....my husband would never cheat...All BS if you ask me. My husband never stopped loving ME, his cheating was about his flaw...not mine. He IS HUMAN and just like EVERY OTHER human is capable of making bad decisions and judgments in different circumstances and/or situations. When he cheated we were living apart for a year while he worked hundreds of miles away. It wasnt the best situation, but financially it was something we had to do. No one knows what the future holds or what situations lie`ahead...you can get yourself into a predicament before you even realize it. Without meaning to hurt anyone. Everyone has selfish needs and everyone is selfish to an extent, its what makes us human. I was once one that said I would never cheat..nor would I ever forgive, my husband was the same. Well after 11 yrs of marriage it happened. It was a total wake up call for us. The situation is not so black and white when it affects you. The ones that think their relationship is perfect, I understand have complete faith in their marriage but if the realiey were to hit them...it hurts twice as bad. You have to realize that no one is perfect and anything can happen...even in good marriages. I say LIVE, LAUGH, AND LOVE...but do not take any of it for granted.

Well I don't wish a divorce on anyone (not even Ricky Lake) but I agree that other people tend to view their world out of rose colored glasses. Meaning everything for them is perfect and can't see their own mess. I think that what's good for you, isn't good for me but that our relationships, while not perfect, should be perfect for US. Enough said.

I think your absolutely right people shouldn't compare or make their relationship the model standard even if they think they have it all figured out.

on one has it figured out relationships are a constant work in progress.
