I saw what you wrote. I am a recovering addict as well going on 16 months sobriety. I used to hurt myself too. Sometimes the pain on your body is better then the pain in our lives. That's only because we control the physical pain. We have no control over people places or things. Sometimes old behavior starts to look like a reasonable option. My boyfriend of a year just flew back to Boston and fell off the wagon after 8 months sobriety. Because his life problem got to big for him.
You have to figure out a plan that is going to work for you. Are you active in a program of recovery? is there something that you are not doing that you should be?
Try making a Pro's and Con's list about your current job.
What good about staying vs. What's bad about staying
Which ever one is greater go with that. Get a game plan and follow it.
We are our worst enemies some times and live a life of self disception. Then we become miserable and ask ourselves why?
I hope you pull through and make the right descisions and remember that you don't have to follow your old behavior. And if you do, that's o.k. too. Just pick yourself up and dust your self off.
