I had Group B Strep and everything went well. I highly doubt that your water would break and you wouldn't know. Sometimes it comes out in a gush or sometimes a trickle, either way you should notice.

You will know if it breaks, but truthfully, that's not always the way labor starts. I have 4 children. Not once did my water break. The first time I just had consistent contractions that were increasingly painful. After a few hours I went to the hospital, they sent me home and told me it was false labor and said I didn't look like I was in much pain. Idiots! But it went on all day, then the mucous plug thing happened, then back to the hospital. They had to break my water.
So you don't always start that way. It can be a trickle, or like a huge gush of water. My sister said when it happened to her, she woke up in the middle of the night and thought she was peeing in her pants but couldn't stop herself. Eventually she realized it was not that, and it was her water breaking.
So pay attention to your body since now you're at the point it can happen anyday.
She had her baby at 34 weeks, he was premature, she tested positive for strep b as well, but he didn't get it. He had other things, but now is an adorable energetic 2 year old. Good luck to you!!

You will know when your water breaks it's kind of icky like warm pee (sorry to be graphic). Anyway a lot of people water doesn't break. Don't stress about the strep B bacteria I had it too and as long as they can get a round of antibiotics in you your baby will be fine. If you have the baby b/f they can do that they can treat your baby.

The majority of the time your water will not break, the doctor will break it. If it does break it could be a gooshing waterfall or just a small drip, it depends on how much you a dialated and how much the sac tears. Don't panic, if your water breaks stay calm, getting upset and anxious won't get you to the hospital any quicker...if anything it will make things worse. If your doctor was concerned he/she would have already admitted you to the hospital. Just relax and enjoy your pregnancy...its almost over! :o)

I had strep b too. They had to break my water for me because I was induced, but let me tell you, when it breaks you will know, its not just a little water, its like you are peeing your pants. After they broke mine with every contraction more water was released, it was like peeing yourself over and over, it was unpleasant. I wouldnt worry too much about anything bad happening, everything went well with me and I have heard horror stories about being induced. I had a good experience overall. Dony worry yourself too much! Good luck!

I was also Group B positive with both my pregnancies. With my first, it was a big gush...no mistaking! With my second, I noticed an unusual amount of fluid...more than the normal stuff...so I called my doctor. I went in for an appointment immediately and found out I was leaking fluid! Went right to the hospital! You will notice that something is different.

Yes you will be able to tell when your water breaks, its like peeing your pants.. sorta feeling.. and I had the strep b also.. and they had to break my water, but If you go in right away and do the antibiotics in the IV, you will be fine, Talk to your dr. . they can reassure you!

You will know, but there is an equal chance that your waters won't break until your labour is well and truly established- lots of women end up having to have their waters broken for them, you may be one of these.
If you suspect that your waters have broken, make sure that you call your maternity department.

Usually, yes. Most of the time though the water does not even break until labor is WELL underway.

I didn't have that and my water didn't break on it's own. When my doctor broke my water I felt it... I'm thinking you will certainly feel it.
