what are the economic pros and cons of apartheid for south africa?

i know apartheid is a terrible thing, but economically it helped i need to find out why.

It distributed labor and wealth to the ruling class and streamlined the work force.

It allowed monopolies, and labor was better regulated.

If the US were allowed to economically enslave people, then the economy would do better also.
