it depends on what you want to know. IN the US,
they are licensed and some of the data on them
is public knowledge. Contact your state'd department
of real estate [on the web too] and look up their
license.
IT will not tell you how successful or unsuc they are or have
been but it will tell you if there are any unresolved issues with them--of a legal nature.
and not all licensees in real estate are Realtors. But all licensees are either salespeople or brokers.
