He claims to be fighting terror, but yet he turned Iraq into the largest terror training ground in the world. At the same time, in his rush to get to Iraq, he left the Taliban Intact in Afghanistan. The border to Mexico is WIDE open and any one can cross it, but instead of fixing that he implemented the Patriot Act. Now we know the FBI broke the law and was spying on INNOCENT Americans. Millions of people cross the border each year, and anyone of them could be a terrorist. But how is the FBI going to find them spending all their time spying on Americans? Oh, and best of all, Osama is still loose, 6 years after 9/11. So 6 years of fighting terror has brought more terror, civil rights abuses by the government, and 1500 miles of wide open border just asking the terrorists to come into America. This conservative is sick and tired of our pansey assed president and his misguided wars. When will he get serious about fighting terror? after 9/11 part 2?

Every thing you said is true. The answer is, getting tough on terrorists is not really part of his plan. The plan is to get as many of his like minded cronies placed in as many positions of power as possible. The plan is also to get as much federal money funneled to the corporations that funded his election and 'retirement fund' as possible. The fight against terrorists is purely an excuse to implement his plans. Proof? He refuses to set goal, objectives, guidelines or timetables on what victory is or how it can be achieved, also he continues to use the military (the expensive way) to attempt to achieve a diplomatic (the relatively low cost way) goal.

Recall that the Roman Empire used barbarian mercenaries to fight its wars in the last 1-2 centuries of rule. The border was porous and the Romans allowed tribes to settle inside Roman land in exchange for guarding the border. That idea didn't last long then and it won't last long now.

Maybe Bush will send 25,000 illegal immigrants to Iraq as part of the surge. There will be 25,000 more illegal immigrants to pour concrete or mow lawns or drink Coronas after work....
