The major difference, according to many of the reviewers in the trade magazines, is the name.

You don't mind paying a couple of thousand bucks extra for the 'name' so you have 'bragging rights', do you?

Alienware makes a good computer but a lot of the cost is for the name. If you want a high end gaming computer go with Alienware. Otherwise buy something else.

I own an Alienware Laptop and will never buy from them again. The support I received from them with issues I had with the CD/DVD rom and Dead Pixels was horrible.
They have now been bought by Dell but i have not heard any changes in their customer support.

For my money I would buy the Dell XPS Laptop they have very good support and warranty plans.

its not that there better because there not. what your doing is paying for the name when you buy an aleinware computer. they high priced computers that just suck and arent any better then a computer you would buy for 1.000 from HP only thing is alein ware makes there computer look cool and make it sound good but its really not.

hope this answers your question

Nope, they're junk. You're paying for the name and the pretty case. (I think they're ugly, actually.)
