There are several ways to intruding additional O2 to your tank, but the only one that aquarium keeper should really be concerned over is water motion at the surface. O2 will dissolve into the water at the surface or any where it meets air. Certain types of filters cause significant air/water contact and greatly increase O2 levels. The classic example is a wet/dry type of filter or any filter with a large algae scrubber attached.

Just as planted tank keepers use CO2 reactors, you can use a O2 reactor. I wouldn't recommend it as you can get dissolved gas levels too high.

You can add Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) to the tank and as it breaks down to water and O it will increase O2 levels, but only a bit and only quite short term. In warm weather I will a dd a few drops to a bag before I ship fish over night.

Certain other chemicals will release O2 into the tank, but they are generally very hazardous to use.

Air bars / bubblers etc will add some O2 to the tank, but very, very little unless you power a very fine stream (extemely small bubbles) into a deep tank with pure O2. Good to use to increase it just a little though for short periods of time such as during high temperature treatments or when fish have gill problems.

Most of your oxyengation should come from the water disturbance caused by your filter.

If you have a hang off the back / power filter, you can either get a move filter, or you can decrease the water level by an inch to cause more bubbles and water disturbance.

If you have an undergravel filter, the air pump should already be causing plenty of water disturbance, and you shouldn't need anymore.

Warmer water become oxygen depleted more quickly than cool water. Not to say that you should make your tank cold, but if your tank is unnecessarily warm, you can bump it down by a few degrees.

You can also add a water pump to agitate the water. Place it near the surface so it creates small waves.

An air pump attached to an airstone or ornament will also increase oxygenation.

There are a few ways to add Dissolved Oxygen (What fish breath) to your tank. The main way is by using your filter. When water comes in contact with air during movement, oxygen is dissolved into the water. This can be done in a few ways,
A fountain, waterfalls, powerheads, wind and waves (such as a wave maker, not just for salt tanks anymore!). you can simply use a cup or a pitcher, scoop up tank water and pour it back into the tank. (another good power outage fix) Air stones and air bubble bars do NOTHING to add this dissolved oxygen in your tank.

You can also add Hydgeron Peroxide to your tank to increase the Dissolved Oxygen levels as well. This is not a long term cure sice it disapates quickly. (I use this if the power is out for long periods of time)

Simply dropping the level of your tank water 1/2-1 inch will add enough dissolved oxygen to your fish. This will allow the filter to DUMP water into the tank.

It is good you are thinking about your fish and if they are getting enough DO2.

Danielle Z is right, all you have to do is agitate the surface of the water like the wind does to a lake or a stream or river flowing over rocks or logs or your power filter does when it dumps water back into your tank
BUT what does an air stone or just bubbles do???
They also agitate the surface of the water, the more bubbles you have the more surface agitation you will get and the more disolved oxygen you will get.
Bottom line is, Keep your water moving, especially at the surface.

I have a 55 gallon tank with an over-the-back filter on the right side of the aquarium and a bubble wand along the bottom of the left side of the aquarium. It seems to be doing just fine for my zebra danios.
