I get told I am, but I still don't believe people.... I don't think I am at all?
Does anyone here get told they are pretty and know they are too? Not in a big-headed way!

I would just like to say, I read every single one of your answers!
Sometimes I'm like woah hot mama, then other days I just feel inferior to other cause I'm not pretty... but the thing is, I'm a very confident person, I believe in myself, I can make friends like that. *clicks fingers*
with your answers i can see that it's not to do with my confidence around people, but just confidence in myself. oh god i feel like i'm writing a poem!!!

sometimes I think that my face is ok and other days its like "whoa! hide me!" I dunno I think all people go through times of disagreeing with all compliments. But try and appreciate at least one or two things about your appearance always so that when your having a problem with another part of your appearance you can say well I like my "whatever you like"....it helps

Honestly, i used to think like that. Now i know that i am a good looker. ITs nothing to do with being big headed, its called confidence, which my love, you should try and get hold of some. I bet your a georgous looking girl, so beleive it and say "thank you" next time someone says a nice thing about you rather than "shut up" !! x As i get older i feel more confident. I am 19 now. But dont get me wrong, everyone has their bad BAD days, you just gotta tell yourself that its gonna pass and the red dragon aint around all month long!! x

Yes im not big headed but have the confidence in knowing that I am beautiful. SO when someone tells me , Wow you are pretty, instead of saying , ohhhhh no im not...... Say in confidence with a big smile, THANK YOU!!..... You make yourself un attractive when you think you dont look good. And carry low self confidence. Beauty is only skin deep, its when you have high self esteem and an awesome personality with the looks to match,. you are a made woman.

i know theres not reallly a way to say this and NOT sound big headed but i get called beautiful and gorgeous alot and i think i am too. i just don't go around bragging or acting like i'm better than everyone. as for u, if people say your pretty except it, thank em, and believe you r without going over the top about it.

I get told quite often and I do think I am most of the time, I think being pretty has a lot to do with what you portray as well. If you are happy with yourself, the way you look and seem confindent you will be more attractive.

i consider myself to be average looking! i'm 35, 12stone 2oz, 5ft 4in with brunette hair and glasses! pretty much like my avatar. i don't really dress up every day, just jeans and casual top and trainers and my hair's always back in a clip. when i DO go out though i make every effort to make the best of what i have. i wear smart clothing, put on some make-up, wear contact lenses and style my hair. when i'm out, friends always think i've lost loads of weight and had my hair done! the truth is that i haven't lost a pound or had anything done to my hair! i just look slimmer because my hair is down and straightened and i wear high heels! i don't see the point in dressing up every day to impress other people, and to be honest, most of the time i'm in my PJ's! it's nice , then, when people comment on how different i look when i go out! sorry, i'm going on aren't i? as long as you make the best of yourself and wear what you feel comfortable in, i'm sure you really are as pretty as people say you are! take care hun!

I am told all the time I am pretty,sexy and all types of stuff but its not what people say its how you feel I also know I am what people say it has to start with you to feel pretty you have to know your pretty. And why would you think your not pretty because people could only say what you give off

yeh its the same way with me. I'm told that i'm pretty but don't believe it i think that they're just saying just because there my friends; but then today i was told i was pretty by a complete stranger! so i don't know if i am or not but i think that its better to be like this because then we don't get big headed! xx

I've been told by so many people that I'm a good looking girl but I wouldn't say it for myself because women are NEVER happy with their looks, etc. I've done modelling in the past so I must have something good going for me. I'm not saying I don't see it at all but I'm a modest person anyway. (the yahoo I.D was not my idea!!)

Well being told you're pretty is a compliment, take it as it is. maybe pretty refrers to more than just looks if you think about it. I know this girl who is slightly overweight and not the best looking but I always tell her shes pretty not because she looks that way but because shes a very nice person.

You are just being self concious. I went through that till I was in my middle twenties.
Now when I see people I went to school with I think I look great for my age....lol.
You must be pretty or I really don't think someone is just going to come right out and tell you pretty if your really ugly.
