My theory is this: Nobody's really sure what exactly bologna is made from, therefore, when something is a "bunch of bologna", it's garbage or nonsense.

I think because of the low degrading way bologna is made and stuff that is put in it; is also the way the stuff the person's referring to "that's a bunch of bologne" meaning worthless or shallow. But with the price of it that statement may not have much bearing.

Think about it. Balonie, Bologna, Bologne is nothing but mechanically separated chicken, pork, and beef. It's FDA approved roadkill. Or in a word: CRAP. So, it's really just a euphemism for the more succintly stated: What a pile of horse $hit.

Well first of all it's like saying "that a load of bull ____" and second, Bologna has too much salt in it, its not too healthy..and it stinks to some people when its fried up in the moring.... ~neko-chan~
