you can definetely apply for and get medicaid for pregnant women at your local health department. No fees, No copays. After you deliver your baby is covered under the plan for a year.

Insurance companies cannot deny insurance to a pregnant woman. Pregnancy cannot be considered a "pre-existing condition". Maybe you fall into income guidelines that will allow you to have Medicaid which will cover all Dr visits, lab work, hospital stays, and medications while you are pregnant and in some areas up to 3 months after you give birth. The baby would then have insurance when its born which would have his/her costs picked up as Medicaid eligible

Hey, I hate to say this but pregnancy is considered a preexisting condition. But since you just go pregnant, why dont you find an insurance company, and just omit the part about you being pregnant. Then in a few weeks make an appt. saying you dont feel well and let them do a urine test and they will tell you that youre pregnant. Hate to lie but you gotta do what you gotta do.

I called every insurance company in my city (kansas).
Nobody will cover pregnancy for the first 2 years of coverage.
If you can't get insurance, start going to your local health department in your county. They will charge you on a sliding scale. It will probably end up costing you about $6000 more than if you had to pay for insurance, but it is better than nothing.
Once you have your baby you can talk to your hospital about reducing your hospital bill based on your income.
I was lucky...I had insurance from my ex-employer, but wanted something cheaper. I couldn't find anything that covered pregnancy.

Insurance companies cannot deny insurance to a pregnant woman. Pregnancy cannot be considered a "pre-existing condition". So any insurance company should take you on.

This is a toughie. Most insurance companies do consider pregnancy a pre-existing condition and will not cover you. It's best to call around.

It is my understanding the pregnancy is not allowed to be classified as a "pre-existing condition" under the law. Do some price shopping find the best 5 and then start making calls.
(Also you might want to list your Country &State/Province for people to help you)

Have you contacted Medical assistance in your area? If thats not an option call your local hospital. Most have wonderful outpatient clinics ...explain to them that you do not have insurance and they will either help you get med assistance or do a sliding scale fee. hope this info helps!

You may want to try a website that compares multiple companies at once to get you the best price/coverage. I am paying less than ½ after I did.

Insurance doesn't work like that. You can't get pregnant (or sick) and then buy insurance. Just like you can't buy car insurance after you've had an accident...
