You certainly can get fired for that. Your tardiness is absolutely independent of your workers' compensation issue. You better get to the doctor for your food poisoning problem and get a note now.

Did you get up before 8 AM to call them to tell them you were ill? If you did not, you most definitely can be fired. The fact that you are on workman's comp is moot. I would start looking for a new job and take some responsibility to show up or notify your employer when you cannot show up. It is too late to obtain a doctor's excuse.

2 hrs late without calling in advance....you're fired. Sorry about your luck but you did it to yourself. You would have been better off to call off at 7am then get a doctor's excuse for the food poisoning. Being on light duty and worker's comp has nothing to do with the reason they will terminate your employment. You will probably be considered a self-termination because you were over 2 hours late without calling and then they can fight the unemployment too. Good luck but it sounds like you've gotten yourself into a hole.

Yes. Any employer paying for a workman's comp. claim would love to have an easy excuse for firing the claimant. Don't make it so easy for them.

He sure can.
Light duty is still duty, and you had an obligation to be their for your shift at 8am, and a no-call no-show usually means bye bye. I would get to a doctor ASAP and get worked up but it may be a moot point by now.

Yes you can. So go to a doctor soon and get checked out for the "food poisoning" before its gone, and remember not to get drunk anymore when you've got to work the next morning.

Yes, he can. Your agreement was that you would do light duty, not that you'd come to work late without calling.
