First you fly to St. Thomas (you CANNOT fly to St. Johns at all). Then you take taxi from airport to city, about $8 per person plus more for each piece of luggage. THEN you HAVE TO TAKE THE FERRY BOAT to get to St. John. Don't worry, the taxi drivers know and will drop you off at the correct place. Get dropped off at the main harbor in Charlotte Amelie. I think the last boat leaves Charlotte at 2 or 3 pm. If you arrive later than that, don't worry, you just have to take the taxi to the far end of the island, called "Red Hook". They also have a ferry there. And that one runs until 10 pm. But it's cheaper and prettier to leave from Charlotte (just $10 each way, and 45 minutes, but beautiful ride!), and from Red Hook is $5, but taxi will add $10 to that, but it only takes 15 minutes. So it's kinda your choice. Charlotte is the cheapest and best way, in my opinion. The ferry rides are nice. Sit on the top deck. Don't worry.
