How do you delete you xbox 360 gamer profile? Because my friends all made thereselves one and its annoying

I think it cost 800 points on xbox live to change it.

I'm betting that these profiles aren't xbox live profiles, but if you go to your system tab, then memory, then gamer profiles, you can delete them there.

what i did was put my profile on a memory card, then i formated the harddrive by going into the system tab on the dashboard, it worked, but i think their is a easier way
