I stayed up until 5:00 am today, then I fell asleep and didn't wake up until 11:30. What really worked for me was listening to music, (the music has to be fast and lively or else it will just put you to sleep) taking a shower, cleaning, reading and playing sudoku.

I know a friend in the army who uses tobacco in his eyes to stay awake.
It hurts but you stay awake, why do you need to stay awake?

If possible, let the sun in, and turn on a fan. Put some upbeat music on.

slip some ice down your back, or stay somewhere cold. I find cold temperatures always keep me up and alert.
