I have my center lip done(not lebret) and my tongue done (it's also gauged to an 8).

Lip:
The pain is not severe at all. Your piercer will put a clamp on your lip and firmly push the needle through. The most painful part is when the ring is actually placed in the wound.
As the end of the needle is being pulled out he/she will thread the ring into it so it passes easily through the wound.
They will twist the ring back into it's original shape (the ring is initailly twisted to make insertion into the lip possible).
Or if it is a stud, he will do the exact same with out the ring bending of course.
They will then attach the ball and you will be on your way.
After care is simple and not very painful.
Except for the occasional accidental bash into it.
You will be painfree within 7 days excluding any complications.
Word for the wise:::: If you get a ring, always make sure that in the beginning you there is no crust on it before you rotate it.

Tongue::::
Same as before, pain is not severe at all, almost like biting your tongue.
He will put a clamp on ur tounge, run the needle though and thread the barebell into the end of the needle. He will then screw on the ball.
Depending on the piercer, they may have you rinse with Listerine after.
If there is any swelling or inflammation of the tongue Ibupofen (advil) will help.
Eating will be akward at first so take it slow. Expect to be biting it alot, because it will happen ;)
Most pain and discomort will be gone in a few days (again if there are no complications).

Both piercings do take a while to get use to, so be patient.
And remember pain is temporary.

Hope this step by step helps, GOOD LUCK.

I'm not being mean but imagine your mom or your grandmother with these piercings. Kind of rediculous, huh? And why would you want a lisp when you talk? Also, my dentist has said it is unbelievable the number of people who haved cracked their teeth. There is nothing attractive about jewelry on a lip or a tongue. Enjoy the piercings you already have. This impulse you have will soon pass and you'll be letting the holes close anyway. So why put yourself through all this anguish? Think about it.

Well Ive seen both a tongue and a lip piercing get so infected, that they had to cut a chunk outta the tongue, because gangrene set in, and with the lip the same occurred, but the lip was sewn back to the other side of the removed area, and now the lip's all twisted compared to her original smile.

Recommendation: mmm

I've had my tongue pierced two time and the first time it hurt so bad I couldn't eat right for a week. But I later found out that the guy who did it did it wrong he went to far back. The second time I had it done I ate a steak hoagie the same night. It didn't really hurt that bad. The main thing I had to get over was my nerves. I thought I was going to puke I was so nervous. I don't have my lip pierced so I can't tell you about that one.

Well mine didn't hurt..nor the lip ring neither the tongue ring. But my advice is that you should get your tongue pierced during the summer because it swells for like 4 days after you have it pierced so you have to put ice in your mouth and drink cold stuff..I was like the frostie chick when I had mine lol!But I had no problem whatsoever with the lip ring!It was the best..the important thing is to carefully choose the place that you'll have it done be sure it's clean and stuff.
So good luck!!!

Go with the tongue. I got my tongue pierced years ago and I can honestly say I grew out of it. With the tongue you can hide it and it won't leave a scar whereas if you get your lip you could be left with a scar later. It's not the best for your teeth. I would always just "play" with it, like roll my tongue around in my mouth and the metal wore down one of my teeth. No one else would notice, but I do. The piercing itself wasn't so bad but the aftermath was. Infections. I have a tatoo on my foot, my nose pierced, and my belly button pierced and my tongue caused me the most pain and grief. But if you're set on, you'll probably just do it anyways.

I have my tongue pierced and I love it.
When I got my tongue pierced it didn't hurt when the actual piercing happened but when my tongue was swollen it hurt. Took about a week for the swelling to go down and you do talk funny. I was a front desk attendant so at the time it was hard not to talk. So to cure the ouch factor, remember to have lots of ice chips available and not eat anything spicy or citrusy,

I have had my tongue pierced and it hurt like a bi***. Getting your tongue pierced hurts a lot because it is a muscle and doesn't have a lot of protective skin. There are also a lot of nerves in the tongue which makes it even more painful.

My best friend has had both done and told me they both hurt a lot. She also said that she liked having her tongue pierced way better than her lip.

Good luck and have fun!

i had my tongue pierced. it hurts pretty bad, but the worst part is the swelling for a few days after. If you do get your tongue pierced, buy soup & jello & suck on ice to make the swelling go down faster. My friend Erica had her lip pierced & she said it never hurts her.
