Sure. Brown only got 15 games for that decapitation bid...and that was 20 years ago. The punishment was too light then and Simon's is too light now.

The NHL lost another opportunity to send a real message of intolerance for flagrant infractions . This league will not be taken seriously until it takes a real stand on this type of violent behavior.

Yep, I remember that and I even have the newspaper article and picture from when it happened. And you're right ... it was vicious.

On another note ... Sandstrom played for the Rangers at the time and today Brown is a scout for the Rangers.

Yeah, sort of like baseball will never be taken seriously if it didn't crack down on steroids. Oh wait that's happening still.
