I just moved into my brand new renovated apartment. I haven't been there for a month yet and it's not in the best area. My apartment itself and the apartment complex is pretty nice. It's cheaper and bigger than my last place which is a plus and it's month to month! Well, now I want to get the hell out of there! Yesterday when I came home from shopping for my new apartment... I noticed there were a bunch of police around the apartment complex. I didn't think anything of it...maybe someone got into a fight or got hurt well, as I looked out window I saw a few cops at the unit across from me and a crime scene examiner wearing gloves. I was like "Oh, ****...I hope no one got hurt". I was being nosey and as I looked out my window....(litterally 12 feet away) I see them taking out a dead body in a white body bag. I could see the shape of the body pretty clear. I couldn't believe my eyes! I screamed out loud! Now I am afraid to be alone and feel uncomfortable in my new apartment. Help!

Low income people do die of natural causes, you know. If the area is relatively safe, you would likely find many low-income elderly and poor health individuals.

I had an elderly neighbor die across the street from my house once and the mailman notified the police. There was about a dozen police and investigators in that house most of the afternoon. It turned out to be natural causes.

You will probably find out eventually what happened. Unless you find out for sure that it was a crime, consider yourself safe.

Find out what happened first. I came home one night to a swarm of cops only to find out a neighbor had locked her keys in her car and called 911 with a dying cell phone. Just because police are around it doesn't mean something sinister has occurred.

Once you do find out decide if you are comfortable staying. If not then leave. Make sure you give appropriate notice. Moving is so expensive and annoying you don't want to do it more often then you have to. Also you say your apartment is larger, renovated and less expensive--you can't find that everyday!
