Its hit or miss. I had a Mini that got damaged in a house fire. (Water from fire hoses) Soaked through and through. Then after a couple of days it turned on and worked fine. I used it for about a month after the incident, and then it crapped out. Totally and unexpectedly just did not turn on any more. Give it a little bit of time but dont expect much. If its only been a year i think Apple has some kind of waranty you can look into.

no way that it will work. even if it is water proof, lol, just think how washing machine runs which could give a shock to the ipod itself. so why not test it so you will know if it still works or not. all you need is to switch it on...

i would say no, even if you had a sports cover over it i dont think it could hold up to a washing machine

It might. I would let it dry out for a few days and wouldn't try to turn it on until it has gotten completely dried.
