Unlikely. It's their only emotionally-based argument that is likely to motivate people.

The fact that it has nothing to do with reality is irrelevant. Most emotional trigger arguments don't. But they're still effective.

By your question, it is obvious that you are unfamiliar with world-wide events. Terrorism has been growing for decades, and has spread out around the world, REGARDLESS of whether Bush decided to take action or not. This is the key point you fail to understand.

Look around. Look at the increasing jihadist violence around the world. Bali, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, China, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Chechnya, Russia, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Turkey, Greece, Kosovo, Spain, England, France, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Egypt, Sudan, Somalia, etc.

Perhaps you can note that very little of this is because of Bush or the Republicans, if you have the ability to be honest with yourself.

But you need to recognize that the danger of jihadist Islam is worldwide, and continues to grow, regardless of what the US does, regardless of what the oil companies do. You've needlessly let your hatred of the right blind you to the truth; you've decided that the GOP is a greater enemy than terrorists.

No, they are incapable of it, it's what they cling to desperately. What makes it easier for them is that after Bush attacked Iraq, Al Queda poured into that country. Previously, they just hung around the Western border giving Hussein a headache and nothing more. He hated Al Queda and they couldn't gain a foothold there while he was in power. Now we're dealing with them as well as with the insurgent factions in Iraq thanks to Bush. So they can point their fingers now and say "hey look Al Queda IS in Iraq" without ever acknowledging how they got there in the first place. Also, thanks to our being tied up in this civil war, they've gained new ground in Afghanistan and the Western Province of Iraq, not to mention all the new terrorist cells in Europe. That's some War on Terror Bush has conducted. No matter who the next President is, I feel for them - what a mess to clean up. One of the huge reliefs that many of us will feel when a new President takes over is knowing the next President will actually engage the terrorists rather than emboldening them with military missteps.

The single biggest encouragement for terrorists to train and expand is a democrat in the oval office.

(Osama Bin Laden actually said this once, didn't he? And in case you didn't notice, terrorists are always trying to influence our elections so that democrats win!)

Doesn't that embarrass you?

They think you're weak! That's why they want you to run the country!

(It must mean that they think conservatives are bad for their future. I had to add that in because I don't know if you're smart enough to figure it out on your own.)
