I want to put an American flag on our house and my husband said it was fine as long as I was prepared to bring it down in the evening and put it up every morning. He said it's a sign of respect. Is there a protocol to follow on a residential dwelling? We support our troops and respect our veterans tremendously so would appreciate your feedback. :)

Yes it needs to come in each night unless you have a spot light on it. Also needs to be in during bad weather as well.

Technically, unless the Flag is lighted (by a garage or house light), you should retire it at sunset.

If you don't want the leftist radicals to burn it overnight, you will bring it in. Soon, it may be a federal crime to even display it.
