All of the guys I've dated have either been bipolar, biracial, or bisexual (one was all of the above *LOL*). I surprisingly had more trouble from people saying that I'd be "diluting his black blood" if I had kids with him... last I checked, he bled as red as me! I also dated a some guys who were part Asian, but didn't get much flack. Some people think that a diverse group of friends is okay, but IRRs are somehow automatically "unnatural." I have a feeling because it's North Carolina, but I'm not sure. People at UNC or Duke seem open to the idea, but there are some rednecks and Black Panther wannabes here, too. I haven't had any trouble with my family other than some of my... odder relationships.
What matters most to me is personality. I've had friends who've lived in the "ghetto" but I don't feel that would yield a good relationship FOR ME. I also don't tend to like rednecks, but does that make me racist? The only problem that really came up was that I was talking marriage and children with one of my partners (I used to jokingly refer to him as my girlfriend because he cross-dressed) and it turns out that it's harder to get a tissue-typing match if there were to be an organ transplant necessary. I think this wouldn't be such a problem if more people offered to be organ doners and there was more of a biracial population.

If I did, then I would not have my beautiful 4-year-old daughter who is part Korean. I am also colorblind, so I could care less if you're polka dotted. I think a lot of people have problems because interracial relationships can cause some grief for certain couples. It's sad that in this day and age some people look to skin color to fall in love.

I agree with what another poster said about it being completely hypocritical for us to oppose other people's relationships when gays have been striving for acceptance for all this time.
Anyway, I have no problem with interracial relationships. When it's genuine, it's an extremely beautiful thing. But of course there are some interracial relationships that are based on things like shallow stereotypes, fetishization, etc.

Not at all, that was a stigma in the 60's, but I think most of the world has moved on since then. My mom used to be against the idea, because she was worried if a couple had mixed children, the kids would be picked on and made fun of, but most people don't see that as a big deal at all anymore. And mixed babies are soooo cute:)

No problem at all, in fact I love the variety. For the most part I hardly even think of it until I see a racially mixed couple. Then my first thought is "beautiful"!

I feel to each his own. If this person makes you happy, who cares what other people think. If a friend stops being your friend because of this, then they never were a friend in the first place. As long as the two of you care and love each other, it is no one Else's business.......

From a scientific viewpoint, it is good for our species to mix the blood lines. This helps to combat disease and makes us stronger as a whole.
But why is this question in LGBT forum :P

I think in this day and age, picking someone that is a different color than you, is the only sure fire way to avoid have sex with relatives. Plus it helps spread your gene pool out. This is always good for brain functioning. You and your bf's child will have way more potential than a child born to people that marry within their respective color catagory.
