Actually - a dead or captured Bin Laden is a martyr - while a hiding Bin Laden is a coward.

Bin Laden has lost a lot of respect in the Arab world for running away and hiding instead of going down fighting.

And the fact that we have taken the attitude that we will capture him 'when we get around to it' further diminishes his credibility in Muslim eyes.

I must disagree. Because if we did catch OBL, then the most fervent of the anti-war left would insist that the war on terror was thus over. And it wouldn't be.

The capture of OBL would change nothing.

The war would need to continue because the terrorists wouldn't stop. And that's where the divisions between people in the USA are - over the recognition by some that the war is and would be far from over.

Catching Bin Laden may not be even prudent toward our national interest. I'm sure that Al-Qeda has retalitory plans should he be caught that aren't pretty and that there are back up plans for both funding and leadership. It's not going to do anything.

The liberals would still be mad. The complaints, moans and groans would still be there. Just like always.

How quickly we have forgotten 9-11.
