People used to sit around and tell stories and then when the radio was invented they used to sit around and listen to it as they watched it. =)

Well.....I have always enjoyed the privilege of television. It is fun to recall those times we did not watch it, though. We would play Monopoly, penny poker, put puzzles together, go on a picnic, listen to records (Oh my!!), watch movies from the library (Dracula was my favorite), visit with neighbors, bake cookies with mom, play games with my brother and sister, actually talk about our day with each other, stay outside and play until dark or go to a friends house. We even took time to read a book.....eeeewwwww!

Such fun can be had if you use your imagination instead of letting the television actually be your imagination. It is limited that way. :)

Cooked meals from scratch, men worked on their own cars, women made clothes for their families sometimes, children had an imagination and played, families sat down together at mealtime. Not bad at all, actually.

They made their own entertainment. But most times they were too tired from doing all of the chores they had to do without modern conveniences.

We had more conversations, more active in community and country, played with our kids more, had more sex (for some), tinkered with our new invention in the garage...television or radio.

They probably drank, smoked and screwed a lot more back then. I mean the greeks and Romans had nightly orgies. I bet those were great times.
