I'm 37 wks pregnant w/ my 3rd baby, and I was at the hospital Saturday night with contractions 2-4 min. apart, so painful I had to take a wheelchair to L&D, the first Dr. said I was in early labor. 1-2 cm. dilated 40-60% effaced, baby is fully engaged, and I started having bloody show and losing my mucuous plug. Then the contractions started to slow down and finally after 7 1/2 hours of being at the hospital the second dr. checked me, said there had been no progress and sent me home. Since then I'm still in pain but not having contractions. Has anyone had anything like this?? I'm going crazy, am I close to going into "real" labor or is this going to stretch on another 3 weeks? Aren't all the signs I'm having pointing to me delivering soon?
Any input would be great! Thanks so much!!

I am so sorry....those last weeks are always hell, aren't they?
And it isn't it soooo true that every pregnancy is different?

The thing you have to remember is that the baby has to stay in there as long as possible. Tough it out....you won't have much longer in the great scheme of life.

I was at 2 cm for 2 months with my 1st one...but my best guess is you will have the baby by the end of the week...go walk to mall, carry laundry baskets up the stairs (not too heavy) walk A LOT!! that helps the baby move down.also taking a hot bath wouldn't hurt anything. The baby will eventually come though when he's good and ready.

While you COULD last another 3 weeks, highly unlikely. I would say it's soon. Like maybe within the next week! Good luck! Walk & have sex to get things going!

if you are already in intense pain and having a bloody discharge, then you are nearing delivery. you have to be
at the hospital by now just in case of any emergency.

I think you are doing great if you have time to go on line and ask this question. Just hang in there. The time will come.

Ask them to induce labor or perform a caesarian.
