Dallas Mavericks, no doubt about that. This season, they're on fire. They are a combination of effective offense as well as strong defense. They can easily drop 100+ points on a team and at the same time hold teams to 70-80 points. Their star player, Dirk Nowitski is playing the best basketball of his life, and has developed into the undisputed leader of the team. While Dirk is the star of the team, he is also surrounded by good, talented players like Josh Howard. Plus, they have depth in their bench too. They are the top ranked team in the NBA right now, and already boast of 3 winning streaks of 10 games or more.

There's a lot of teams that could be mentioned, but I'll have to go with the Mavericks. Here are the main reasons.
1. They are equipped to handle any team's style of play. They can run with Phoenix, or grind it out with the Spurs. They have the personnel that can matchup well with just about anyone.
2. They're developing a "killer instinct". They didn't have that last season. They left a lot out on the table last season. Avery Johnson and Donnie Nelson made a concerted effort to make sure that didn't happen again. They went out and got "closers" (i.e. Devean George and Austin Croshere) and a "lunchpail guy" like Greg Buckner
3. The "Big 3" know's what it really means. Getting to the finals is no easy feat, the Mavs never knew what it took. They shed the label "Built for the regular season" last season, but they didn't quite close the deal. If you ask any of them, the mantra is to finish. Finish at the basket, finish your opponent, FINISH. That's the difference between this year and last year's version.
4. The Phonenix Suns may have the more talented players, but the Mavs have the better system and the players to suit that system. The Mavs are 2-0 against the Suns this season and we'll see what happens after wedenesday. The Mavs right now, have the soundest basketball system in the league right now. From offense, defense, and the bench they've built a contender from the ground up

the phoenix suns are the best team in the NBA .because we can out score teams some can even run wih us nd also they work together as a team r bench players play all the time so were not just usin nash ,bell, marion, ect all the time. also if we have someone in foul trouble we say o good get him out but then they bring in another player nd its like o good their bringin him in. so the team is a win win situation!!!

Dallas is good, but I'm going with the Suns. They're a great team, and they're not dirty. That's all a team needs to win my respect.

chicago bulls, they have no real superstars that score alot of points, they just play a team game where everyone contributes to the success of the team, especially the bench players. The bulls have one of the deepest teams in the NBA. If a starter goes down there is always someone there to step up in his place.

Miami Heats because even with out Dwyane Wade they are playing effectively and Shaq is leading them all the way
