he was the best and most proffesional striker we have had.he cud look after himself as well not like these cheating diving money grabbing foreigners.i enjoyed watching him he scored some fantastic goals.

since the prem started there has definatly not been a more complete striker. he is the best english striker to grace the game in recent history.

but could you put him on a par with zola and cantona for awareness and skill off the ball?

Possibly the best striker.....It's a shame he decided to sign for Newcastle and not win anything.

He is defiantly not the most complete striker as he didn't have the skill or passing ability of somebody like Bergkamp, Cantona or Zola

no ian wright was the best striker of the premiership (back in his time) alan shearer is the best goal scorer cos he has the most goals ever in the premiership! He has a great record!

one of the best.one striker i always admired was sir les ferdinand,him and shearer together was the best strike force the prem has ever seen

best english striker and probably in the top 3, Zola and van nistleroy the others

he certainly was a good goalscorer but i wouldn't say he was the complete striker. the best in my opinion was dennis bergkamp, his goals where something to behold.

I really liked Shearer, but also think van nistelrooy was up there as well.
