Do you wait patiently for it or do you quit in the middle of a journey because it's impossible to achieve?

Make sure you have a realistic step by step program to achieve what you want. Consider you commitment to it. Are you prepared to make the necessary sacrifices to achieve it? Is this what you have already done?

If you answer is yes to all of these, then charge ahead. One day you'll get there.
If any are no, then backup and reassess. You're not really prepared to make the journey and maybe you shouldn't.

If your dream seems impossible, maybe you are just setting the bar too high...for now. If you dream for example is being the best brain surgeon in the world, and your 14 now, then you may eventually get there, but you are setting your present goals too high. Set smaller goals that you can reach more easily, for each step in the process. For example...first your goal would be to take the right courses and do the best possible in high school, so that you can attend the college of your choice. Your first goal would be to take Chemistry and get an A+. Then make a new small goal, until you graduate from high school. Next set more goals for college with the same set of rules, and so on through medical school, internship, etc. Before you know it, you will have reached your final goal that you first set out to accomplish, but met all of the other goals along the way.

When I grow up I want to be a REAL ARTIST. I'm 47 years old. I wear jeans and tennis. I have two teens and a great house in a good city and a great husband. I am showing in the Sculpturewalk in South Dakota this year and have sold internationally and am being filmed in a documentary tomorrow (argh-I hate photos!). One never thinks their dream is attained or good enough- that is exactly what drives you to be better. Or should- set steps of attainment so you can feel some ground under your feet. It doesn't mean you have to stop working toward that ultimate goal- just find some good smaller in betweens to satify yourself or you'll go crazy.

Define your dream in terms of the process, not the end goal. When you get to that goal, you'll just come up with some other thing you want, and start all over again. If you can't learn to enjoy the ride, you're going to have a long, miserable life.

The secret is, its about the journey anyway. If you think something is impossible, it is. All about attitude. You don't "wait patiently" for anything, you fight for it daily.

Good luck :)

what will you be saying a week from now when you have done nothing to move closer to it? don't waste precious time.
stay on your path and work towards your goals. you just might find that what you think is the dream is really a way to get where you belong, which could be somewhere else entirely! you never know unless you try.

It could be just around the next corner(turn/change). If you quit now, you won't find out until it's to late(I should of and I could of if I would of).
Nothing is impossible to the one who believes.
