Teaching is like leading a horse to water, putting the water in a perfect trough, flavoring the water to the horse's preference, working up thirst in the horse, playing perfect drinking music, offering summative and formative assessments of the drinking, aligning the plan up to state drinking standards to meet national drinking exams, pointing out the real world need for drinking, providing intrinsic and extrinsic motivations for drinking, and after all that, have the owner of the horse call you and complain about him not being able to drink because he just refuses to drink.
