You can relax. Your former employer will likely (highly likely), not disclose you were fired. In fact, they probably will give you a good reference!
People get fired all the time. What happened to you happens to a lot of people. But still, fired people get jobs again! First of all, in better than 80% of cases, the person wasn't fired because they were incompetent. It's usually one of two cases. The first case is something went horrible wrong and although mistakes were made by several persons, manager and coworkers, someone's head has to roll and, well, it's usually an employee. The other case is it's political. You P'd the wrong person or your works style conflicted with someone else or perhaps the manager just didn't like you (i.e. pettiness.) Whatever, you're not a **** up! But the job is over. Since you're not working for them anymore, they have nothing to gain by preventing you from getting a job elsewhere. What's more, especially if it's political, they probably feel bad over the incident and would feel better by helping you. Their biggest concern is what if you take legal action against them for wrongful dismissal? That's is an employer's nightmare!! And it's not the financial cost alone, it's the HASSLE!! It's time consuming and irritating!!
So, here's what you do. You call them up and admit that you know the job is over. Then you ask them if they can help you get another job by giving you a reference. "Hi, it's Listen, I know my job is over at your company and I'm not looking to come back. But since I'm unemployed now, I need to find another job. Is there any way I can get a reference from you?" WOW!! You'll be AMAZED at their reaction!! "Um .. ahh .. SURE!! We can do that!! What would you like us to say!?!?!" I know this because that's the reaction I got whenever I did this! You're sending them a clear message that you're not going to sue them in exchange for a good reference. Any employer, even a bad one, will gladly take that tradeoff!! No one asks for a reference then turns around sues them! In fact, you'll be astonished at what wonderful things they will say about you! It'll make you wonder why they ever fired you in the first place!! I know this because that's what happened to me! At worst, they will say something neutral and won't mention you were fired. Most likely, it will be good. Whatever they agree to say, that is what you say to potential employers. If the potential employer makes a reference check, the former employer backs up exactly what you said. You're safe!
Now there is an exception to all of this. It's the other 20% of the time someone gets fired. You did something illegal (i.e theft, embezzlement, fraud, fistfight, ... ) or in gross violation of company policy (i.e. caught downloading excessive amounts of pornography at work, abuse of priviliedges, ... ) or you simply PO'd them (told your manager to "go **** yourself!", obnoxious behaviour, PO'd a customer, lost them business, ... ) Otherwise, you'll get your reference. Even if your former manager won't give it, his boss or HR will give it.
Best,
-- Liam

How strange. i've got no longer seen this poem, yet regardless of the reality that, this question nonetheless warrants some variety of answer. i do no longer have confidence that every person is definitely poetically vulnerable in the direction of form of opinion, adventure or very own perception in poetry. in case you write a poem a pair of stupid baboon (which Spike Milligan did) human beings like it reason this is stupidly a giggle. in case you write something theory upsetting, or proportion an adventure in existence, some human beings take it as an insult to their eyes and minds. this form of shame that freedom of theory and speech would properly be so noticeably monitored and bumped off using fact somone someplace has a controversy approximately some dude having written a poem. some human beings are only relatively narrow-minded and caught up - yet luckily we're not all like that.
