By what I hear, they do this because their hair is easier to manage that way, plus it looks pretty, it has nothing to do with wanting to "look" White. Now I have a question for you. Why do White women tan, get boob and butt jobs, and get lip implants? Is it because they want to look like a woman of color?

I think some women do it to be more americanized but I straightened my hair when I was in my early teens and wore weaves sometimes but it was because that was the only way I knew how to manage it. I made a decision to grow my hair out when I was fifteen and got some really great tips on how to style and take care of my hair. I haven't fryed or tied my hair since and I am in my early twenties.

I love my hair the way it is. It has never been healthier, shinier, or longer. I don't have to go to the salon whenever my hair grows, hide from the rain, wake up early to straighten it, stay out of the pool etc., and I can wear it in a variety of styles while keeping it natural and healthy.

the same reason that other people wear wigs, all of it is a was

bothers me about black women and their weave, is that alot
of them seem to think that the styles they wear, makes them a
part of their African Roots? But they are sadly mistaken, if the

TAIJ is nice. Plus why positioned on a wig in the experience that your going to hit your self interior the pinnacle each 5 minutes. And as for weaves Why pull it out and throw in on the floor... that's littering! they seem to be a large hassle. BQ : i might rock a GW wig cuz i'm a form setter!

As a black woman who does not wear a weave, I think there are different reasons. One being that some women think it makes them appear prettier. Another reason may be that they see many of the stars with weave and they want to emulate them and the way they look. Some women also do it because of the convenience of it. Hope this helped.

Why do black women wear weaves? Well, not all black women wear weaves. I'm one of them. But they are worn to change up on their hairstyles. I mean, why do white women wear wigs/extensions/weaves (Paris, Jessica, Brittney, Gwen)? I suppose it's for the same reason. To change up their look aka versatility. But as I read more of your question, it starts to take a racist slant. "Why can't they be happy nappy?" Well, to counter that, why do white women love to tan so much? Or why do they like to inject their lips to give them fuller lips for a "sexy pout?" Why do they sell underwear in stores like Frederick's of Hollywood that is padded in the booty so you can have a more curvaceous figure? Why do you go to the Caribbean and pay some person to cornrow/braid and bead your hair? Why can't ya'll be happy being pale, thin lipped, flat haired and have a flat booty? That's just an ignorant question on my part, just as much as your question of us being happy nappy is ignorant on your part.

Society has carved an image on how a female should look. Almost every actress you know(even some dudes) wear em.
Some do it just for longer hair.......I think whites grow their hair out faster than black folk.
I like my chicks to rock a fro.

I don't wear weaves, my hair is very long because I wear it natural or "nappy" as you call it and it is healthy. So when I straighten it it's very long, people think it's weave though.

That's like saying white women tan so that they can look more white! If a woman wants long hair, but she doesn't have it, she can go get some. If you want to be darker, but you skin isn't, you can go sit in the sun. To want a certain attribute does not mean you want to be an entirely different race!
