how can you tell the difference between a real one and a fake ps2 game , also would a fake ps2 game work on my ps2?

Usually if it wont stick up for you or talks about you behind your back its fake.

If by fake, you mean illegally copied, they usually don't work. If it's a real well made copy, which is actually on a pressed (as opposed to a burned) DVD it might work. You usually can tell the difference if you check the package it came in. Usually, original copies have a seal (a 3-D seal) which would be missing from an illegal copy. Those illegal copies are usually only sold on the street, if you buy it in a regular shop there should be no problem. If there is some street dealer who offers something for a price that seems too good to be true, it usually is.
As for working on your PS2: Burned copies never work. Pressed copies usually do.

flip the cd look at the cd from angle you can see the playstation symbol
