The only way to be certain you are not pregnant is that you are not at all sexually active. When I was a student I was taught that all women, of child bearing age who miss a period, must be assumed pregnant until proven otherwise!

Assuming you are not pregnant however it is quite possible that any emotional upset might delay your period. Also we are not machines and sometimes a period is missed for no clear reason. Are you someone who has done this before or is it the first time? You do not mention contraception, women on the mini pill often miss periods. Also you do not say if you are on any other medication, if you are this might be the cause.

If the answers you get do not help, try re-posting your question including much more detail.

Have you just started the pill or maybe you've stopped taking the injection that can stop your period if this is the case for the injection you could be waiting for anything from 6-12 months for your periods to return. If your stressed out could also be another factor i would book myself in with the GP if you don't see anything in the next 3-4 weeks then you can put your mind at rest.Even if you are pregnant things aren't that bad i wish you all the look in the world hopefully its nothing to worry about.RELAX

Hiya honey, you don't mention your age but if you have started not that long ago then your periods could still be irregular, with mine it took over a year to begin to be regular and i remember times when i ''missed'' mine and thought i was pregnant! don't worry about it, you know that you're not pregnant so i can assure you nothing is seriously wrong. Hope everything goes ok x

All sorts of things can play havoc with your period - crash dieting, too much exercise, stress or illness, or hormone imbalance. Maybe you should mention it to your GP, particularly if you are feeling under the weather in any other way.

sounds like stress has made your period late!

Late? It is not late, you have completely missed it.

Lots of reasons for this. A traumatic experience can do it.
