I used some program to alter my internet settings in my registry and now I keep losing my connection briefly when I am doing stuff online.

I've tried doing a system restore but of course IT DOESN'T WORK (useless pos). So there must be some way of going back to default settings yes/no?

I am using Windows XP any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

It made a system restore point so I thought I was safe with making any changes :( Apparently I was wrong *sigh*

Did you, by any chance, make a back up of the registry BEFORE you messed with the settings? If you did, then you should be able to rename the registry to it's original name, after changing the name of the one you've messed up, and then have your original settings.. If you didn't do that, then go to www.paqcs.com and ask ghowriter how you can fix it..
I never mess with my registry without backing it up. Actually, though I've been messing with puters for 24 years, I do NOT mess in my registry.

It may not be your registry. Do you have DSL? If so, check to see if the line filters are on all of the telephone sets.

you may try to contact your internet provider for technical assistance... importantly, try to save the IP address so that you can just log in via your IP address website.

Good luck:)
