I believe it was extremely racist and it speaks very loudly on how image conscious the American Idol producers are. If Antonella was fat or black I believe she would have been kicked to the curb as well.

The fact still remains that it was an unfair thing to do and youre all ******** idiots. And to the people who are sick of the race card being pulled, how do you think black people feel about being segregated into poor neighborhoods and being persecuted because they were born a certain color. No white person will ever know what its like to be discriminated because youre black. So ***** all of you who think youre above it.

I don't think it is racist at all. There is really no proof that the pictures were of Antonella, and Frenchie was doing it on an illegal site with proof. Also, Frenchie was paid for the pictures. Antonella was just fooling around with friends. it is completely different.

I agree w/ the first answer. I don't think that the color of her skin had anything to do with it. Even Simon said that she was beautiful, but he wishes that she could sing better. It's such a shame that sex sells, but when you add that one was "heavy set" and one was model-like and there is room for debate. I believe that Frenchie was soooo talented and that Antonella (why does she have "tone" in her name when she was deaf to that) only got the votes for what she looked like. We don't see Frenchie anymore, but I will bet my last dollar that Antonella will be seen again. If it's in the magazines or even a CD the promoters know that she will mean some big bucks for a short time.

The color of her skin had nothing to do with it. It was more on appearance sake. Frenchie was a heavier woman and Antonella was not. The skinnier person will sell more and make more money because we are an image obsessed society. Frenchie being heavier would not sell as much and thus probably kicked off.
It is a bad double standard set by the show.

I don't believe it was racist, I do believe that what's good for the goose is good for the gander. I do think Antonella should have been kicked off as well.
Frenchie has an amazing voice and Antonella can't sing and I'm not sure how she made it that far. Maybe Simon was the one taking the photos?

I'm tired of people pulling out the 'race card' for any and everything.
Frenchie INTENTIONALLY posed for a pornographic website, and the photos were put online WITH her consent. Not to mention that it was actual PORN and she was paid for it.
And as much as I dislike Antonella, she had PERSONAL photographs of herself put on the web WITHOUT her consent by her ex boyfriend. Not to mention they weren't even a quarter as bad as what Frenchie had done.
This has NOTHING to do with race or weight. And anybody who says it does is just brainwashed by the biased media. This is just ridiculous and shouldn't even be a matter right now.

I'm not convinced that it was because of the color of her skin. I do think that it may be unfair that Antonella wasn't kicked off but I don't think it was a part of race.

Isn't it funny that Sunjaya is still there but not Antonella? How do we know she didn't get enough votes and that American Idol didn't decided to let her go??

Antonella can't sing Frenchie could. That being said, Frenchie posed for those pics and was paid - pornography. Antonella's pics were personal - that were exposed. She never intended for them to be public.

the reasoning seems to be that frenchie had videos and still shots.
antonella(by the way i think this girl should have been kicked off because she stinks!) had photos giving the finger. the other shots of her were proven to be fakes.
i love frenchie she is a great singer.

It's not racist at all.
It shows what kind of porn we deem as acceptable, and what kind of porn we deem as a "sickness".
Frenchy was into "shoe fetishes". That's just outright sick. That is why SHE was kicked off.
Antonella was into water fountains and wet t-shirts. That's hot! And that is why she got to stay so long.
Thing is, even Antonella was not THAT pretty, and she was voted off by America to enable her to pursue her passion.
'Nuff said!
